Role Overview We are seeking an experienced and dynamic professional to lead API Intermediates sourcing, procurement and regulatory compliance within India. The role will focus on building and managing a strong supplier network across India, driving cost-effective procurement, ensuring regulatory compliance (GMP/QA/RA), and coordinating with internal QA/QC and supply chain teams. Key Responsibilities 1.StrategicSourcing & Supplier Management o Identify, evaluate and onboard reliable Indian manufacturers and suppliers for API intermediates. o Develop and maintain strategic vendor relationships to ensure consistent quality, capacity and compliance. o Conduct supplier qualification, technical audits and regulatory assessments. • Procurement & Commercial Management o Lead commercial negotiations on pricing, payment terms and supply contracts. o Monitor domestic market dynamics, raw material trends and supplier capacity to optimize costs. o Implement strategic procurement practices to ensure supply continuity and competitiveness. • Regulatory & Compliance Oversight o Ensure sourcing activities comply with Indian drug regulations, GMP standards and international quality norms. o Coordinate with vendors for DMF/technical documentation, COAs, MSDS and other regulatory submissions. o Maintain compliance documentation for audits and inspections. • Logistics & Supply Chain Coordination o Coordinate domestic logistics, warehousing and delivery planning with the supply chain team. o Liaise with freight forwarders and logistics partners for timely and compliant deliveries when required. • Cross-Functional Collaboration o Act as primary liaison between suppliers and internal teams (Sourcing, QA/QC, R&D, Regulatory and Production). o Provide market insights, supplier updates and risk assessments to support procurement planning. • Leadership & Team Development o Represent the company during supplier meetings and audits. o Build and mentor a local sourcing & compliance team as needed. o Drive process improvements and uphold corporate values. Candidate Requirements • Experience: 8–15 years in API intermediates sourcing, procurement or regulatory roles (experience in Indian supplier market essential). • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of pharma intermediates, GMP requirements and regulatory frameworks in India. • Vendor Network: Proven relationships with Indian API / intermediate suppliers preferred. • Compliance Expertise: Knowledge of Indian regulatory requirements, GMP, customs and documentation standards. • Skills: Proficiency in SAP/ERP, MS Excel, costing, tendering and regulatory documentation. • Language: Fluent in English; local language proficiency a plus. • Location: Must be currently based in India or willing to relocate within India.
