Material Scheduler and Planner

About the job

Key Responsibilities Material Scheduling & Planning • Plan and schedule material requirements based on production plans and demand forecasts. • Coordinate with production planning teams to ensure availability of materials without shortages or excess inventory. • Maintain optimal inventory levels to support smooth manufacturing operations. • Track and manage material requirement planning (MRP) through ERP systems. Supplier Management • Maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure delivery performance and responsiveness • Monitor supplier delivery KPIs and corrective actions for performance improvement. • Ensure suppliers meet quality, cost, and delivery expectations. • Maintain clear communication with suppliers regarding order schedules and changes. Inventory & Planning • Maintain optimal inventory levels to avoid production stoppages. • Work with production planning teams to manage demand fluctuations and supply risks. • Monitor material shortages and expedite critical components. Inbound Logistics Management • Coordinate inbound logistics activities to ensure efficient transportation of materials. • Optimize logistics cost through freight planning, consolidation, and route optimization. • Work with logistics partners to ensure timely delivery to plant / warehouse. Reporting & Analytics • Prepare and monitor KPIs such as OTD, logistics cost, supplier performance, and inventory turns. • Use ERP systems to track purchase orders, shipments, and inventory. Required Skills • Good understanding of mechanical components and manufacturing processes • Knowledge of MRP / ERP systems (Oracle / SAP preferred) • Familiarity with inventory management and supply chain processes • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Good communication and cross-functional coordination • Ability to work in fast-paced manufacturing environment Preferred Industry Experience • Automotive • Heavy Equipment / Construction Equipment • Manufacturing / Engineering
