Mechanical CAD Designer/Micro-Mechanic Engineer
About the job
We need an experienced mechanical CAD designer / micro-mechanic engineer to design a custom, hidden modular clasp for an 8mm solid steel chain. THE TASK: Design ONLY the clasp mechanism. The clasp must allow a heavy 8mm chain to be split into two separate pieces (bracelets) and reconnected into one seamless necklace. THE CONCEPT: We have attached a conceptual schematic illustrating the logic. The system uses a high-precision, invisible screw mechanism (Male Threaded Plug - Female Threaded Socket). When tightened, the connection must be flush and match the 8mm profile exactly. TECHNICAL SPECS: Mechanism: Heavy-duty, precision internal threading (hidden screw). Material: Validated for solid 316L Stainless Steel. You must calculate realistic micro-tolerances for daily wear. Branding: Provide a flat, deep laser engraving zone on the central clasp body for our logo. Deliverables: .STEP and .STL files optimized for CNC manufacturing. 2D technical drawings (.PDF/.DXF) specifying all dimensions, thread pitch, and machining tolerances. Please start your proposal with "316L" so I know you read the technical requirements. Show me previous engineered metal parts, watchmaking components, or complex mechanisms you have designed. If your portfolio is just render-heavy jewelry, please do not apply. Contract duration of less than 1 month. Mandatory skills: Mechanical Engineering, 3D Modeling, CAD & CAM Software, SolidWorks, Product Design, manufacturing design, Technical Drawing
