ML Researcher – Finance

About the role: The ML Researcher – Finance will design and run experiments to create high-quality, domain-specific datasets and models that push the frontier of ML applications in financial use cases. The role works very closely with the data delivery team to define data specs, iterate on labeling guidelines, and ensure data quality at scale. What you will do: • Design and execute experiments to generate and curate custom datasets for finance-related ML problems (e.g., risk, trading, forecasting, document understanding, financial QA). • Collaborate with the data delivery team to turn research ideas into scalable data pipelines and labeling workflows. • Prototype and evaluate ML models using the curated datasets, and convert findings into clear requirements for further data collection. • Review data quality, define edge cases, and refine annotation schemes to improve signal-to-noise for downstream models. • Stay current with ML research and financial ML applications; translate relevant ideas into practical experiments and data specs. What you should have: • 2+ years of experience in ML / data science / applied research; more experienced profiles are welcome to apply. • Strong foundations in machine learning, statistics, and experimental design. • Deep interest in creating datasets that move the state of the art forward, not just training off-the-shelf models. • Proficiency in Python and common ML tooling; experience running experiments end-to-end. • Master’s or PhD in a relevant field preferred; candidates without advanced degrees are welcome if they show clear research inclination (e.g., papers, open-source work, strong Hugging Face or similar profile). • Prior exposure to finance (markets, banking, fintech, quant, or similar) is a strong plus.
