What you'll do As a Data Engineer you are responsible for: • Engage and deliver around Business Data cloud (BDC) as Date Engineer which is foundation of artificial intelligence and machine learning scenarios of SAP • Perform the role of a technical lead on projects/services of Data and Analytics. • Act as a trusted advisor/technical architect on Data and Analytics domain for the customer • Engage in Data Preparation, Data Integration, Data Management and preparation tasks in BDC/Datasphere • Understand business processes, select best approaches, evaluate their performance and assess business relevance to implement for Data mesh, data modelling and Data governance. • Support in preparation of Data Science, AI, ML Embedded in S/4, Databricks and other solutions. • Expand own skill sets to other and upcoming areas of AI, ML, Predictive Analytics of SAP • Data product thinking, ready for Estimation and planning, Risk management, Methods and governance • Analytical, results-driven with solution-oriented approach, team player and yet can work independently • Possess exceptional interpersonal and communication skills • Must be open to travel. What you bring Required skills (must have): Experience in one or more of the following topics: • Exposure to SAP Datawarehouse cloud, SAP BW, SAP Hana, Planning • Hana Data modeling / manipulation / Data ingestion, SQL-based transformations and performance design • Secure retrieval from Datasphere/HANA via Open SQL; chunking, embeddings, vectors • SQL-based transformations and performance evaluation and design • Data modeling and semantics - Dimensional and semantic modeling for analytic, Replication vs. federation trade-offs; CDC, scheduling/monitoring • SQL optimization, calculation view modeling patterns, pruning, caching strategies • Experienced in building connections, virtual vs. replicated data, SQL/graphical views, replication/data flows • SAP data & analytics landscape expertise on SAP BW 7.x and BW/4HANA, S/4HANA analytics touchpoints (CDS views, embedded analytics, integration patterns) • Open SQL schema consumption patterns for external compute/ML notebooks • Very good analytical skills to solve complex problems; a structured, reliable and independent way of working under pressure; a safe and friendly appearance and general communication skills. Preferred skills (good to have) • Analytics and Visualization tools like SAP Analytics cloud, Business Objects. • Scripting and automation - Python for data/ML workflows against HANA Cloud/Datasphere (hdbcli, hana-ml, JDBC/ODBC) • Orchestration/monitoring patterns for data pipelines • Python + hana-ml integration; optional AI Core for ML ops • Understanding of REST, OAuth/SAML basics; JSON, Parquet, CSV, • Understanding of SPARQL query language and syntax. • Knowledge of RDF (Resource Description Framework) and graph databases. • Knowledge of RDF data modeling and schema design. EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / COMPETENCIES • Graduate or master’s degree in computer or Electronics & Communication Engineering / Computer science / Information Technology systems/ Computer applications / IT Business Systems or equivalent. /Master/Bachelor of Science in Comp Science/Technology • Must have excellent communication and collaboration with team members, customers and senior level management team. • Coordination support for important customer issues (investigating, providing workarounds) for complex and cross-component issues. • Experience in communication with customers and managing expectations. • Proactive in learning and highly self-motivated. WORK EXPERIENCE • 13 to 15 years of relevant work experience delivering project/service as lead and expert. • At least 3 projects delivered as lead and 3 projects as expert. • Good in value and business outcome framing, Proposal/SOW structure, scoping language, assumptions/constraints. • Understand key industry metrics, value drivers, and common analytics use cases • Experience in Client/ Customer interaction • Experience in System Administration / Support /Service / delivery / Team Lead.
