JOB TITLE : Principal Engineer/Engineering Manager, AI & ML JOB LOCATION: NAVI MUMBAI About the Role We are looking for a highly skilled, hands-on AI/ML leader to drive state-of-the-art personalization, recommendations, and content discovery at JioSaavn. Responsibilities • Lead the strategy and execution of AI/ML initiatives that power personalization across homepages, autoplay, and content discovery. • Partner closely with engineering, and product teams to ship high-impact ML features at scale. • Mentor and grow a team of engineers and scientists, while remaining deeply technical yourself. • Shape JioSaavn’s long-term AI/ML roadmap, ensuring we stay at the forefront of recommendation systems, user understanding, and generative AI. • Your work will directly impact how millions of users discover music every single day. Qualifications • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, or a related quantitative field. • 12+ years of relevant industry experience in applied AI/ML, data science, or closely related fields. • 3+ years of experience in people management and/or technical leadership, managing engineers and/or data scientists. Required Skills • Strong hands-on experience with core ML techniques: • Supervised learning, ranking, recommendation systems • Deep learning (e.g., representation learning, sequence models) • Applied NLP and/or user modelling • Proven track record of taking ML solutions from prototype to production, including: • Scalable data pipelines and feature engineering • Deployment & serving at scale • Experimentation, A/B testing, and continuous improvement • Monitoring, alerting, and model lifecycle management • Experience with modern MLOps practices (CI/CD for ML, experiment tracking, model registries, etc.). • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear narratives for both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Preferred Skills • Experience in AI/ML research or advanced development (publications, patents, or open-source contributions) is a strong plus. • Familiarity with recent advancements in large language models (LLMs) and generative AI—and an interest in applying them to music discovery—is a plus.
