Product Owner
About the job
Role Overview We are building a lean, high-impact core technology team to deliver internal platforms (workflow automation, operations tooling, analytics enablement) and scalable client-facing products. We are looking for a Product Owner who also runs project execution. This person acts as the bridge between business stakeholders, the Product Manager, and the Engineering/QA/DevOps teams—ensuring that requirements are clarified, work is planned in detail, delivery is tracked rigorously, and outcomes are communicated clearly. Mission Drive predictable delivery by converting product intent into clear, execution-ready work, and by running an effective delivery rhythm that improves transparency, speed, and quality. Key Responsibilities • Own the delivery backlog for assigned initiatives: break down problems into epics/stories/tasks with clear acceptance criteria. • Work with the Product Manager to translate roadmaps into near-term delivery plans, milestones, and releases. • Run sprint/iteration rituals (planning, daily standups, backlog refinement, review, retrospective) and keep the team focused on outcomes. • Build detailed project plans: scope, schedule, dependencies, risks, assumptions, and resource needs; maintain an active RAID log. • Drive execution tracking and reporting: progress, blockers, burn-down/burn-up, release readiness, and stakeholder updates. • Coordinate cross-team dependencies (engineering, analytics, DevOps/SRE, QA, and vendors where required) to meet delivery commitments. • Ensure delivery quality by enforcing Definition of Ready/Done, testability requirements, and release checklists in partnership with QA and DevOps/SRE. • Support user acceptance testing (UAT) by planning test cycles, triaging feedback, and ensuring timely fixes and sign-off. • Use AI tools responsibly to accelerate documentation, reporting, estimation support, meeting notes/summaries, and simple mock-ups where helpful (without exposing sensitive data). • Promote continuous improvement: identify workflow bottlenecks, reduce waste, and help teams adopt consistent processes across companies. What Success Looks Like First 90 days • Clear delivery cadence established for at least one priority initiative (backlog, ceremonies, reporting). • Well-structured epics/stories with acceptance criteria for top-priority work; reduced ambiguity and rework. • A visible delivery plan with milestones, dependencies, and risks; stakeholders receive consistent status updates. • Release readiness checklist and Definition of Done adopted with QA/DevOps for the initiative(s) you own. 3–6 months • Improved delivery predictability (fewer surprises, clearer scope control, faster decision-making on blockers). • Reduced defect leakage and smoother releases through better acceptance criteria, UAT planning, and quality gates. • Repeatable execution templates in use across teams (planning, reporting, release, retrospectives).
