About the job
As a Purchasing Manager in an Agri-Input company, your main responsibilities will involve sourcing raw materials, equipment, and services, and managing vendors for both domestic and import procurement. You will be in charge of strategic procurement activities across various spend categories to secure better deals and more profitable suppliers. Key Responsibilities: - Developing, leading, and executing purchasing strategies - Ensuring timely availability of materials and services - Tracking and reporting key functional metrics to reduce expenses - Crafting negotiation strategies and closing deals with optimal terms - Ensuring compliance with organization policies and applicable legal regulations - Partnering with stakeholders to ensure clear requirements documentation - Forecasting price and market trends to identify changes in buyer-supplier power balance - Performing cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking - Conducting periodic supplier audits/evaluations and site visits - Assessing, managing, and mitigating risks - Seeking and partnering with reliable vendors and suppliers - Maintaining and updating procurement records Qualifications Required: - Minimum of 8 years of experience in an Agri-Input company - Proficiency in English and Hindi languages - Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management - Interest in market dynamics along with business sense - Skill in negotiation and networking - Professional degree in supply chain management, logistics, or business administration.
