Python Developer – DevOps Backend

About the job

Were a US-headquartered product company building tools in the network security and compliance audit space. Were looking for a Python developer with strong DevOps instincts—someone who doesnt just write code, but owns how it gets built, tested, and shipped. What youll do Youll own our CI/CD infrastructure end-to-end. GitHub and GitHub Actions are central to how we work—youll design workflows, automate testing pipelines, manage deployments, and continuously improve our delivery speed and reliability. This isnt set it and forget it DevOps its an evolving system youll shape as the product grows. On the backend side, youll build and extend services on our core stack: FastAPI, PostgreSQL, Docker, and RabbitMQ for async processing. You should be as comfortable debugging a failed database migration as you are troubleshooting a broken pipeline. We expect you to use AI tools (Copilot, Claude, Cursor, etc.) as a default part of your workflow—not as a novelty, but as a force multiplier. What were looking for • 5-8 years of experience in Python development, preferably in a product company • Deep expertise in GitHub Actions—designing complex workflows, matrix builds, reusable actions, secrets management • Strong CI/CD fundamentals: build automation, testing strategies, deployment patterns • Solid backend skills with FastAPI, PostgreSQL, and Docker • RabbitMQ or similar message queue experience • Comfortable with infrastructure-as-code thinking • More than specific tools, we need someone who can work independently, figure things out without hand-holding, and deliver under pressure. We dont micromanage—we set direction and expect ownership.
