Position Overview A Sales & Marketing Executive in News Media is responsible for generating revenue through advertisement sales, building strong client relationships, promoting the media brand, and increasing audience reach. The role combines both sales and marketing functions to support the overall growth of the news organization. Key Responsibilities Sales Responsibilities • Identify potential advertisers, agencies, and business clients for ad sales. • Pitch advertising options such as TV commercials, print ads, digital ads, sponsored content, and special programs. • Develop customized ad packages based on client requirements. • Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets through effective client acquisition and retention. • Prepare and present proposals, quotation sheets, rate cards, and campaign plans. • Negotiate pricing and close deals professionally. • Maintain regular follow-up with clients and ensure timely execution of advertising campaigns. • Coordinate with editorial, production, digital, and design teams for campaign delivery. • Maintain CRM data and prepare sales reports. Marketing Responsibilities • Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote the news brand. • Assist in planning promotional activities, events, and special coverage campaigns. • Support social media promotions and audience engagement activities. • Analyze competitor performance and market trends for strategic planning. • Work with content and design teams to prepare creatives, promotional material, and marketing content. • Enhance channel/newspaper/website visibility through strategic brand-building initiatives. • Monitor analytics (viewership, readership, engagement metrics) and share insights. Required Skills & Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Mass Communication, or related field. • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. • Experience in media sales is an added advantage. • Good understanding of the news industry and advertising market. • Ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships. • Knowledge of marketing strategies, promotional activities, and brand management. • Basic understanding of digital platforms and analytics tools.
