Senior Accountant

About the job

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Odisha, India. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing and overseeing daily accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting. The role involves preparing financial statements, reconciling accounts, handling audits, budgeting, taxation, and providing financial insights to support strategic decision-making. The position also requires maintaining internal controls, financial policies, and regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities: • Manage day-to-day accounting operations and financial records • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements • Perform general ledger accounting and account reconciliations • Ensure compliance with statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements • Assist in internal and external audits and coordinate with auditors • Prepare budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis • Handle direct and indirect tax filings (GST, TDS, Income Tax, etc.) • Monitor internal controls and support risk management initiatives • Provide financial analysis and reports to management • Maintain accounting policies, procedures, and documentation Required Experience: • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in accounting, finance, or a similar senior accounting role • Experience in handling end-to-end accounting processes • Prior exposure to audits, taxation, and compliance is mandatory • Experience in corporate, consulting, IT, or service-based organizations will be preferred Skills & Competencies: • Strong knowledge of Accounting, Financial Reporting, Budgeting, and Taxation • Proficiency in General Ledger Reconciliation and Financial Analysis • Hands-on experience with Accounting Software, ERP systems, and MS Excel • Understanding of Accounting Standards, Compliance, and Internal Controls • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills • High attention to detail and accuracy • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks efficiently Education Qualification: • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field • CA / CPA / CMA / MBA (Finance) or equivalent professional certification is preferred
