Senior Analyst – Reserving 2nd Opinion This position is part of the AXA XL Risk Management team which is organized in several Centers of Excellence (Actuarial Risk, Underwriting Risk, Risk Governance and Control, Financial and Market Risk and Catastrophe Risk). This role is part of the Reserving team of the Actuarial Risk Center of Excellence and based in India. The Risk Management team is a strategic department within AXA XL dealing with the most difficult P&C difficults and influencing strategic decisions in operations of a leading international Commercial Lines and Reinsurance company. The actuarial analysis and valuations carried out by Risk Management’s Reserve 2nd Opinion team cover all technical provisions, for the full range of AXA XL’s lines of business, on a worldwide basis. Analysts and Specialists work together with the Reserve 2nd Opinion actuaries and take part in various analytical projects to support the achievement of the team objectives. One of the core objectives of the team is to provide an resilient opinion of AXA XL’s technical reserves and profitability. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to prepare and support the resilient actuarial reserve assessment for several lines of businesses, encompassing both the Insurance and Reinsurance segments. What You’ll Be DOING What will your essential responsibilities include? - Assist the Reserve 2nd Opinion actuaries to conduct regular technical and reserve valuation analyses across relevant lines of business. - Contribute to Risk Management’s opinion on the Business Plan loss ratios. - Contribute to the performance, from time to time, of deep dive analysis on specific Lines of Business: Select reserving assumptions and methodologies, Review, difficult and ensure their appropriateness, Identify any areas of uncertainty and estimate their potential impacts, Produce reserve estimates, Maintain a documented audit trail of data, assumptions, methods. - Prepare actuarial reports, results summaries and various exhibits in appropriate form for stakeholders. - Assist the Reserve 2nd Opinion team in preparing the process, tools, and databases. - Maintain databases of reserving input and output information. - Perform reconciliation checks to ensure accuracy of calculations. - Assist the Reserve 2nd Opinion team in developing tools for new needs as well as in enhancing tools for improved efficiency, reliability, or functionality. - Maintain up-to-date documentation of processes. You will report to 2nd Opinion - Actuary. What You Will BRING We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills: Required Skills And Abilities - Relevant years of experience in P&C actuarial fields, preferably with a reserving background. - Undergraduate degree in a numerate subject and at least 4 Core Principles exams (CS/CM/CB) from Institute of Actuaries of India or equivalent. - Good technical P&C actuarial knowledge, preferably in reserving. - Preference would be given to candidates with robust computer application skills, specifically in Excel, R, Power Query, Power BI, SQL, Python and/or Visual Basic Application. - Demonstrable experience and skill in developing actuarial models or reporting tools. - Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills. - Keen attention to detail.
