About the Role – Senior Backend Developer (Java / Spring Boot) We are hiring Senior Backend Developers with strong Java expertise to design and build mission-critical backend systems for our global travel infrastructure. • Search & availability engines • Pricing & margin systems • Booking and payment orchestration • Distributed microservices for travel inventory • High-performance APIs serving millions of requests This is a high-ownership, high-impact role where you shape the core product that powers all user-facing flows. Responsibilities Backend Architecture & Microservices • Architect and develop backend systems using Java 11+, Spring Boot, JPA/Hibernate • Build scalable APIs for hotels, flights, bookings, payments, and user systems • Design domain models, state machines, queues, caching layers, and workflows • Implement idempotency, retries, consistency guarantees, and fault tolerance Search, Pricing & Booking Flows • Build low-latency services for search, filtering, availability, and pricing • Integrate with internal pricing engines and caching systems • Work on booking flows requiring transactional correctness and reliability Integrations • Integrate with external travel suppliers, hotel partners, GDS/NDC APIs • Integrate with payment gateways (Razorpay, Stripe, PayU, UPI) • Handle API authentication, rate limits, SLA constraints, and failover logic Performance, Reliability & Observability • Implement circuit breakers, fallbacks, rate limiting (Resilience4J) • Optimize APIs for high throughput and sub-200ms latencies • Work with logs, metrics, dashboards, and distributed tracing • Collaborate with DevOps on AWS deployments, CI/CD, and scaling Team Leadership • Review code, support junior engineers, and enforce best practices • Drive technical decisions, architecture reviews, and sprint planning What You’ll Bring Must Have • 4+ years experience in backend development • Strong proficiency in Java 11+ , Spring Boot, REST APIs • Experience designing and scaling microservices • Strong database skills (PostgreSQL/MySQL) including indexing & optimization • Experience with caching: Redis / ElastiCache • Hands-on experience with queues: Kafka / RabbitMQ / SQS • Strong understanding of: • Transaction boundaries • Concurrency • Distributed systems fundamentals • Idempotency and consistency patterns • Experience with Docker, CI/CD, and cloud environments (AWS preferred) Nice to Have • Experience with travel-tech, booking systems, payments, inventory, or search • Experience with OpenSearch/Elasticsearch • Exposure to GDS/NDC , hotel suppliers, or B2B integrations • Knowledge of gRPC, DDD, or hexagonal architecture • Experience with high-traffic consumer apps Mindset (Important) • Ownership-driven, reliable, and detail-oriented • Passion for system design, scalability, and backend craftsmanship • Thrives in fast-paced, high-autonomy startup environments What We Offer • Chance to architect global-scale travel infrastructure • Great Work Culture & Great People • Work on high-performance systems used by millions • Opportunity to design modules from scratch (no legacy baggage) • Remote-first work culture with complete autonomy • Fast career growth into Tech Lead / Principal Engineer roles • Access to AI-driven engineering workflows, tooling & automation • Contribute to patents, internal frameworks, and open-source releases • Good Amount of ESOPs How to Apply Send your resume + GitHub/Kaggle/portfolio link .
