Senior Backend Engineer

About the job

We are looking for a senior backend engineer with deep Kotlin expertise to design, build, and run scalable microservices, APIs, and event-driven systems, working 3 days a week from our FSI clients office in Bangalore. What You'll Do • Develop and maintain robust, high-performing backend services and APIs using Kotlin • Design and implement microservice and serverless architectures • Create clean, well-tested code using TDD, automated unit tests, and integration tests • Work with event-driven systems and message queues like Kafka or Google Cloud Pub/Sub • Own features from technical design through to deployment, including documentation and code reviews • Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated builds and deployments. Required Skills & Experience • 5+ years of backend development experience, with a strong focus on Kotlin • Deep understanding of the JVM (professional Java experience is a plus) • Proven experience designing and building microservices and RESTful APIs • Hands-on experience with reactive programming (Coroutines, Flow) and event-driven architecture (e.g., Kafka) • Experience with real-time data processing frameworks like Apache Flink is highly valued • Proficiency with containerization (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes), and CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
