Role Description We are seeking a reliable, delivery-oriented Senior Backend Engineer with strong expertise in Java , solid Python understanding , and hands-on experience building AI-enabled backend systems. The role involves Python-to-Java migration, developing scalable backend services, integrating AI components, and designing systems similar to chat-based AI applications. Key Responsibilities • Migrate and refactor backend services from Python to Java • Develop and maintain Java-based backend systems with Python support for enhancements and tweaks • Design and build backend services for chat-style AI applications (similar to conversational AI platforms) • Develop and expose RESTful APIs and microservices • Integrate AI components and frameworks (e.g., MCP, LLM integrations, agent execution) • Design scalable and reliable backend architectures • Work with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) for deployment and operations • Implement unit tests and integration tests to ensure system reliability • Participate in system design discussions and architecture reviews • Troubleshoot complex backend issues and optimize performance • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions on time Required Skills and Experience • Strong hands-on experience with Java backend development • Solid working knowledge of Python (ability to understand, modify, and optimize existing code) • Experience performing Python-to-Java migrations • Strong backend engineering background (APIs, services, data handling) • Experience designing distributed systems and microservices • Hands-on experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) • Experience building or integrating AI/LLM-based systems • Strong understanding of system design, scalability, and reliability • Experience with unit testing and integration testing • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills Nice to Have • Experience building chat-based or conversational AI platforms • Exposure to AI orchestration frameworks or agent-based systems • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and containerized deployments • Familiarity with cloud-native observability and monitoring
