Our client, a major player in the FMCG sector, is seeking a strategic and data-driven Senior Category Manager to join their commercial team. This fully remote position offers the chance to shape category strategy and drive significant growth for a key segment of their product portfolio. You will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive category plans, optimizing product assortment, managing pricing strategies, and fostering strong relationships with retail partners. Responsibilities: • Develop and implement category strategies aligned with overall company objectives and market dynamics. • Analyze sales data, market trends, and consumer insights to identify growth opportunities and optimize product assortment. • Define and manage category pricing strategies to maximize profitability and market share. • Collaborate with the sales team to develop and execute effective trade marketing plans and promotions. • Manage relationships with key retail partners, understanding their needs and developing mutually beneficial strategies. • Identify and evaluate new product opportunities for the category, working closely with brand management and R&D. • Monitor category performance, analyze key metrics, and provide regular reports and actionable recommendations to senior management. • Drive promotional effectiveness and ensure optimal return on investment for marketing spend. • Stay informed about competitor activities and market best practices. • Lead and mentor junior category management professionals. • Contribute to the overall commercial strategy of the organization. Qualifications: • Master's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. • Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in category management or brand management within the FMCG industry. • Proven track record of successfully developing and executing category strategies that drive sales and profitability. • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques. • Excellent understanding of retail operations, merchandising, and trade marketing. • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and presentation skills. • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. • Proficiency in using sales data analysis software and market research tools. • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities. • Demonstrated leadership capabilities and a collaborative mindset.
