Our client, a dynamic leader in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector, is seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Category Manager to join their fully remote team. This role is pivotal in driving category growth, profitability, and market share through insightful analysis, effective brand strategy, and strong supplier relationships. You will be responsible for the end-to-end management of a specific product category, from market analysis and product development to promotional planning and sales performance. Responsibilities: - Develop and execute comprehensive category strategies aligned with overall business objectives, focusing on growth and profitability. - Conduct in-depth market and consumer research to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive threats. - Manage the product lifecycle for the assigned category, including new product introductions, line extensions, and discontinuations. - Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate favorable terms, pricing, and promotional support. - Develop and implement effective go-to-market strategies, including pricing, promotion, and placement plans. - Analyze sales data, market share, and category performance metrics, providing actionable insights and recommendations to stakeholders. - Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, supply chain, and finance, to ensure successful category execution. - Develop and manage category budgets, optimizing investment for maximum ROI. - Monitor competitor activities and market dynamics, adapting strategies as needed. - Identify and develop strategic brand partnerships and co-marketing opportunities. - Ensure effective inventory management and forecast accuracy for the category. - Present category strategies and performance reviews to senior management. Qualifications: - Master's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. - Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in category management, brand management, or a related role within the FMCG industry. - Proven track record of successfully growing product categories and achieving commercial targets. - Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate insights into actionable strategies. - Excellent understanding of consumer behavior, market dynamics, and retail landscape. - Demonstrated experience in supplier negotiation and relationship management. - Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Nielsen, IRI, Excel, PowerPoint). - Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fully remote, fast-paced environment. - Strategic thinker with a creative and results-oriented approach. - Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. - Passion for the FMCG industry and a deep understanding of consumer trends.
