About the Job: Tide is hiring a Senior Data Scientist with 4+ years of experience to join their Risk & Fraud Team remotely. The role involves developing and deploying robust machine learning and statistical models to detect and prevent financial fraud in real-time, handling highly imbalanced large datasets, and collaborating with ML engineers and product teams to deliver scalable, high-impact solutions. Eligibility • Candidates must have 4+ years of experience in Software Development or Machine Learning. • Candidates must have strong proficiency in Python and expertise with ML tools such as scikit-learn, statmodels, TensorFlow, Keras, or PyTorch. • Candidates must have experience with big-data technologies such as Spark, SparkML, Hadoop, and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure). • Candidates must be proficient in ML training, feature engineering, hyperparameter tuning, and model optimization. • Candidates must have experience developing and deploying ML algorithms including logistic regressions, boosted trees, and neural networks in real-time settings. • Candidates must have working knowledge of SQL and data transformations in warehouses (e.g., dbt). • Candidates must be comfortable with ambiguity and possess self-starter qualities. • Familiarity with Financial Services and the Fintech sector is preferred. Role and Responsibilities • Design, develop, and implement advanced ML/statistical models to predict and prevent fraud. • Handle highly imbalanced, large datasets for model development. • Build adaptive models that respond to evolving fraud typologies and threats. • Develop and deploy ML models for real-time, low-latency inference in production environments. • Utilize, enrich, and contribute to feature store ecosystems for high-quality, scalable risk features. • Implement performance monitoring and drift detection to ensure model stability and effectiveness. • Collaborate with ML Engineers to productionize models using AWS/GCP tech stacks. • Work closely with Business and Product teams to understand requirements and deliver data-driven solutions. • Explore creative approaches to generate training datasets and leverage new data structures like knowledge graphs for fraud detection.
