Role Overview We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer with 4-7 years of experience to build end-to-end features for TartanHQ's HR/payroll platform. You will own the complete feature lifecycle from backend API design to responsive frontend implementation, collaborating with product, design, and QA teams. Key KPIs • Sprint delivery utilization: >90% • End-to-end feature delivery: 1 feature/month • Pull request reviews: 100% coverage • Test coverage: >80% Day-to-Day Responsibilities Your week includes: backend API development and frontend implementation, code reviews and design discussions, sprint planning and standups, testing and debugging, and collaborating with product on feature specifications. You'll work on features spanning the entire stack within 2-week sprints. Core Responsibilities Backend Development (40% time allocation) • Design and implement REST APIs using Django, FastAPI, or Flask • Develop PostgreSQL database schemas and optimize queries • Implement authentication, authorization, and security best practices • Write maintainable backend code with comprehensive tests • Deploy backend services using Docker and CI/CD pipelines Frontend Development (40% time allocation) • Build responsive UIs using React or Next.js with TypeScript • Implement state management with Redux, Zustand, or Context API • Create pixel-perfect designs with CSS-in-JS or Tailwind CSS • Optimize frontend performance and Core Web Vitals • Write unit and integration tests using Jest and Cypress Quality & Collaboration (20% time allocation) • Review peer code for quality and architectural consistency • Participate in design-driven development practices • Work with QA to ensure comprehensive test coverage • Document APIs and frontend components Required Skills & Qualifications • 4-7 years of full stack development experience • B.Tech in Computer Science or related field • Expert-level Python with Django, FastAPI, or Flask • Expert-level React or Next.js with TypeScript • Strong understanding of state management patterns • Solid PostgreSQL/MySQL database skills • Experience with REST API design principles • Proficiency with responsive design and CSS • Experience with Jest, Cypress, or similar testing frameworks • Hands-on Docker and CI/CD experience Preferred Skills • Experience with AI/ML model integration • GraphQL or similar query language experience • Server-Side Rendering (SSR) and Static Site Generation (SSG) • Design systems and component library development • Performance optimization and Web Performance APIs What We Look For • Ownership: You take responsibility for complete feature delivery • Versatility: You think holistically across the stack • User empathy: You care about end-user experience and performance • Growth: You continuously learn new technologies • Communication: You collaborate effectively and document thoroughly.
