About the Role We are seeking a highly experienced, execution-oriented HR professional with 8+ years of top-tier HR experience to serve as a strategic partner to leadership and build a best-in-class people function. This role is ideal for someone who combines strong commercial judgment, operational rigor, and credibility with executives — not just a policy administrator. You will own and elevate the HR function end-to-end, helping scale a fast-moving, high-performance professional services environment. What You’ll Do Strategic HR Leadership • Act as a trusted advisor to the founder and senior leadership team • Translate business goals into clear, actionable people strategies • Build scalable HR infrastructure that supports growth and M&A readiness Talent & Performance • Lead hiring strategy across senior and mid-level roles • Design structured performance management systems (OKRs, scorecards, comp frameworks) • Implement high-bar recruiting processes and candidate evaluation frameworks Org Design & Compensation • Develop org structures aligned with growth phases • Design competitive, data-driven compensation and incentive plans • Advise on equity structures, retention strategies, and leadership development Culture & Standards • Help build a high-performance, low-politics culture • Set clear expectations around accountability and professionalism • Serve as a sounding board on sensitive personnel matters Compliance & Risk • Ensure HR practices are legally sound and operationally clean • Oversee employment policies, terminations, and documentation rigor • Partner with external counsel when needed What We’re Looking For Must-Haves • 8+ years of high-quality HR experience (not generalist-only) • Background in top-tier environments (e.g., consulting, banking, PE-backed companies, elite startups, or strong corporate HR programs) • Demonstrated experience partnering directly with senior executives • Strong judgment in high-stakes personnel decisions • Ability to operate both strategically and tactically Strong Pluses • Experience in professional services or advisory firms • Exposure to M&A environments or diligence readiness • Experience building HR functions from scratch or scaling them • NYC proximity or comfort working with East Coast leadership What We Do NOT Need • Purely administrative HR backgrounds • Policy-only HR without business partnership experience • Early-career candidates Who This Is For This role is ideal for: • A senior HRBP ready to own a function • A Head of People who prefers a lean, high-impact environment • A fractional senior HR leader seeking a long-term partnership Why This Role Is Different • Direct exposure to founder-level decision making • High autonomy and real influence • Opportunity to shape the people function from first principles • Performance-oriented, low-bureaucracy culture Compensation • Competitive base (commensurate with experience) • Bonus and/or equity participation possible • Flexible structure (full-time or fractional considered) How to Apply Please send: • LinkedIn profile or resume • Brief note on the most sophisticated HR environment you’ve worked in • Example of a people initiative you designed that materially impacted the business • We are looking for quality over quantity — exceptional candidates only.
