About the Role We are seeking an experienced Senior Laravel Developer with strong backend expertise and solid front-end integration skills to join our growing remote team. The ideal candidate has deep hands-on experience with modern Laravel (v8+, preferably Laravel 10 / 11), scalable API development, and performance-driven database design. In this role, you will take ownership of complex web applications, contribute to architectural decisions, mentor junior developers, and collaborate with designers, project managers, and QA teams in a fast-paced agency environment. Key Objectives • Architect, develop, and maintain scalable Laravel applications • Lead backend development and ensure high code quality • Design secure, high-performance RESTful APIs • Optimize database structure and application performance • Support team growth through mentorship and best practices Must-Have Skills & Experience Backend & Laravel Expertise • 3–7 years of professional Laravel / PHP development experience • Strong proficiency in Laravel v8+ (Laravel 10 / 11 preferred) • Advanced understanding of MVC architecture, service containers, queues, jobs, and events • Proven experience building and consuming RESTful APIs • Hands-on experience with Livewire, Jetstream, or similar reactive Laravel tools Database & Performance • Strong expertise in MySQL (schema design, indexing, query optimization) • Experience handling large datasets and performance bottlenecks • Knowledge of caching systems such as Redis, Memcached, and Laravel Cache Front-End Integration • Strong experience integrating backend logic with HTML, Tailwind CSS, Bootstrap, and JavaScript • Familiarity with Alpine.js, Vue.js, or React.js Version Control & Collaboration • Proficiency with Git (GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket) • Comfortable working in distributed remote teams • Experience working within Agile / Scrum frameworks Good-to-Have Skills • Experience with automated testing tools (PHPUnit, Pest) • Knowledge of web security best practices (authentication, authorization, CSRF, XSS, OWASP) • Familiarity with CI / CD pipelines and deployment workflows • Experience with Docker, Nginx, AWS, DigitalOcean, or similar platforms • Experience using project management tools such as Jira, Trello, ClickUp, etc. Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Laravel web applications • Lead API architecture and integration for internal and external systems • Implement advanced interactive features using Livewire / Jetstream • Write clean, scalable, and well-documented code • Review code, enforce standards, and mentor junior developers • Optimize performance, security, and database efficiency • Debug and resolve complex production issues • Collaborate with frontend teams to deliver seamless user experiences • Participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, and technical discussions • Stay up to date with Laravel ecosystem trends and modern PHP practices Soft Skills & Professional Traits • Strong ownership and accountability • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities • Clear and proactive communication in a remote environment • Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines independently • Passion for clean architecture and continuous learning • Collaborative and team-oriented mindset
