Senior Logistics and Fleet Operations Manager

Our client is a rapidly expanding logistics and transportation company looking for a highly motivated and experienced Senior Logistics and Fleet Operations Manager to join their fully remote operations team. This critical role will oversee the daily management of our fleet, optimize delivery routes, ensure compliance with transportation regulations, and drive operational efficiency across all logistics functions. You will be responsible for managing a team of dispatchers and fleet coordinators, implementing best practices, and leveraging technology to enhance service delivery and reduce costs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supply chain management, fleet operations, and logistics optimization, with proven leadership capabilities. Key Responsibilities: • Manage all aspects of fleet operations, including scheduling, routing, maintenance, and driver management. • Optimize delivery routes and logistics networks to improve efficiency, reduce transit times, and minimize fuel consumption. • Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation laws, regulations, and safety standards. • Oversee the procurement and management of fleet vehicles and equipment. • Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all logistics activities. • Monitor fleet performance using telematics and other tracking systems, identifying areas for improvement. • Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers, carriers, and suppliers. • Lead, train, and mentor a team of dispatchers, fleet coordinators, and drivers. • Develop and manage departmental budgets, controlling costs and maximizing profitability. • Implement and utilize logistics software and technology to streamline operations and enhance visibility. • Analyze operational data to identify trends, forecast needs, and make data-driven decisions. • Respond to and resolve operational issues and customer inquiries in a timely and effective manner. • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the logistics and fleet operations department. • Collaborate with sales, customer service, and warehouse teams to ensure seamless operations. • Ensure high levels of service quality and customer satisfaction. Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. • Minimum of 6 years of experience in logistics, fleet management, or transportation operations. • Proven experience managing a fleet of vehicles (e.g., trucks, vans). • Strong understanding of transportation regulations (e.g., HOS, DOT). • Experience with route optimization software and transportation management systems (TMS). • Excellent leadership, team management, and problem-solving skills. • Strong analytical and data interpretation abilities. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote, fast-paced environment. • Knowledge of vehicle maintenance programs and cost control strategies. • Experience in a high-volume logistics environment is a plus.
