As a remote-first position, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our transportation network, including route planning, carrier management, driver supervision (indirectly through digital platforms), and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of supply chain dynamics, fleet management best practices, and transportation technology. You will leverage advanced analytics and real-time data to make informed decisions, drive process improvements, and enhance overall operational performance. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing strategies to reduce transportation costs, improve delivery times, and maintain the highest safety standards for our fleet. You will work closely with procurement, warehouse operations, and customer service teams to ensure seamless integration and effective communication across the supply chain. This role requires exceptional leadership qualities, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage complex operations from a distance. Proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS) and fleet management software is essential. You will be instrumental in forecasting transportation needs, negotiating carrier contracts, and ensuring compliance with all relevant transportation laws and regulations. Responsibilities: - Oversee and optimize daily logistics and fleet operations in a remote environment. - Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance transportation efficiency and reduce costs. - Manage and monitor fleet performance, maintenance schedules, and driver compliance (through digital means). - Utilize transportation management systems (TMS) for route planning, load optimization, and carrier selection. - Negotiate contracts and build strong relationships with third-party carriers. - Ensure compliance with all local, national, and international transportation regulations and safety standards. - Analyze operational data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement. - Collaborate with warehouse and customer service teams to ensure seamless end-to-end supply chain execution. - Develop and manage operational budgets for the logistics department. - Implement and oversee key performance indicators (KPIs) for transportation and fleet operations. - Lead and mentor a remote team of logistics professionals. Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. - Minimum of 8 years of experience in logistics and transportation management, with significant experience in fleet operations. - Proven track record of optimizing transportation networks and reducing costs. - Extensive knowledge of transportation management systems (TMS) and fleet management software. - Strong understanding of supply chain principles, regulations, and best practices. - Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. - Demonstrated leadership ability and experience managing remote teams. - Strong negotiation and vendor management skills. - Proficiency in data analysis and reporting. - Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in English.
