• Full Time • New Delhi • Posted 2 months ago Breakthrough is seeking a Senior Manager – Organisational Communications to drive strategic communications, public relations, and brand building efforts to establish Breakthrough’s credibility as a thought leader and expert on gender norm change and increase Breakthrough’s influence and perception which will assist the development of fundraising, partnership and marketing plans. This role sits at the intersection of strategy, content, and stakeholder engagement. The Senior Manager will be responsible for building visibility, driving thought leadership, and ensuring consistent, impactful communication across internal and external platforms. Key Responsibilities Organisational Communications • Develop and implement an organisational communications strategy and annual calendar aligned to the thought leadership agenda. • Create, curate, and disseminate high-quality content (data, insights, case studies, impact stories, opinion pieces) that positions Breakthrough as an expert. • Draft speeches, leadership messages, and thought leadership articles for external platforms and events. • Oversee production of flagship organisational publications including: • Annual Report • Monthly Newsletters (external and internal) • Organisational brochures, change stories, decks, and fact sheets • Manage content and storytelling across various platforms • Develop and maintain a repository of data points, impact metrics, and research insights to support external communication. • Analyse research and evaluation findings, develop reports, and present data for internal and external stakeholders. • Build a cross-team content sourcing mechanism to feed communications outputs regularly. • Streamline external communications to ensure alignment and consistency of voice, tone, messaging across the board • Plan and coordinate crisis communication responses with leadership. • Any other tasks as assigned by the supervisor. Public Relations • Drive the PR strategy to advance Breakthrough’s visibility and credibility. • Plan and source material for media releases, stories, and interviews from within the organisation. • Build and manage strong media relationships with journalists, media houses, and platforms. • Draft and vet press releases, statements, and other PR communication ensuring adherence to messaging and brand guidelines. • Plan and execute press briefings, media events, and journalist interactions. • Create regular content for dissemination by the PR agency and oversee the PR calendar. Brand Positioning • Develop and implement brand positioning strategies that reflect Breakthrough’s values and agenda on gender norm change. • Build brand collaborations and partnerships to enhance visibility and reach. • Identify brand promotion opportunities and lead Breakthrough’s presence at high-visibility events, forums, and conferences. • Plan and execute brand-led events, activations, and showcases. • Ensure strong branding and messaging at all external events and campaigns. Skills, Competencies & Experience Required • 10+ years of experience into communications, public relations, or brand strategy roles. • Proven experience in building thought leadership and driving organisational visibility. • Excellent content development, editorial, and storytelling skills. • Strong media and stakeholder relationship management skills. • Strategic thinking with strong execution and project management abilities. • Passion for gender equity and social change.
