About the job

Job Description – Senior Product Manager – Petroleum (Instore / Offline Payments – Cards & UPI) We at Pine Labs are looking for those who share our core belief - “Every Day is Game day”. We bring our best selves to work each day to realize our mission of enriching the world through the power of digital commerce and financial services. Role Purpose We are looking for a Senior Product Manager – Petroleum Payments to own and scale offline / instore payment experiences (Cards & UPI) across fuel stations and petroleum retail networks. This role requires deep understanding of in-store payment flows, POS and forecourt integrations, low-latency checkout, and ecosystem dependencies involving OMCs, acquiring banks, networks, and regulators. You will build products where every second saved at checkout directly impacts throughput and revenue. Responsibilities we entrust you with Petroleum Payments Product Ownership • Own the end-to-end product charter for Cards and UPI payments in petroleum / fuel retail environments • Define product roadmap for forecourt, cashier desk, and hybrid payment flows • Build payment solutions optimized for high-volume, peak-hour transactions Cards Payments (Fuel Retail Focus) • Own card payment journeys across EMV, contactless (NFC), swipe/dip/tap, and fallback scenarios • Drive integrations with acquiring banks and card networks (Visa, Mastercard, RuPay) • Optimize authorization rates, latency, reversals, settlements, and dispute workflows • Ensure compliance with PCI, tokenization, and card network mandates • Design flows that work seamlessly with fuel automation systems (ATG / FCC / FMS) UPI Payments (Fuel Retail Focus) • Own QR-based and intent-based UPI flows tailored for petroleum use cases • Improve UPI success rates in high-throughput, outdoor, and variable-connectivity environments • Partner with NPCI and banks to roll out new UPI features and regulatory updates • Enable fast refunds, reconciliation, and end-of-day settlement flows for fuel stations Offline / Instore Systems & Integrations • Work closely with POS hardware, firmware, and platform teams • Integrate payments with billing systems, forecourt controllers, loyalty, and ERP systems • Design for real-world constraints: network drops, power issues, device limitations, and queue pressure • Enable fallbacks and recovery flows to minimize station downtime Merchant & Business Collaboration • Deeply understand workflows at fuel stations across company-owned, dealer-owned, and enterprise chains • Partner with Sales, Ops, Support, and Field teams to drive adoption and reduce on-ground friction • Support enterprise rollouts across large petroleum networks and OMCs Operational Excellence & Metrics • Own and track KPIs such as payment success rates, transaction time, uptime, failures, and MTTR • Drive root-cause analysis and systemic fixes for recurring on-ground issues • Use data and merchant feedback to continuously improve reliability and performance What matters in this role Relevant work experience • 6–10 years of product management experience • Strong specialization in offline / instore payments • Deep expertise in Cards payments and/or UPI • Prior experience in fintech, payments, POS platforms, acquiring banks, or fuel retail technology is highly preferred • Understanding of high-volume transaction systems and regulated payment environments • Strong stakeholder management and execution capabilities What Will Make You Successful in This Role • Obsession with speed, reliability, and uptime • Ability to design products for complex, real-world offline environments • Strong execution mindset with attention to operational detail • Comfort working with multiple external ecosystem partners Why Petroleum Payments Are Different Payments in the petroleum / fuel retail environment are fundamentally different from typical retail or online payments. This role operates in one of the most mission-critical offline ecosystems in the country. Here’s what makes it unique: • Zero tolerance for downtime • Fuel stations operate continuously. Even a few minutes of payment disruption can halt forecourt operations, create queues, and directly impact revenue. • Extreme throughput and peak pressure • Transactions must complete in seconds during peak hours. Latency, retries, and fallbacks are not edge cases—they are core design considerations. • Deep system integrations • Payments are tightly coupled with forecourt controllers, ATG systems, billing software, and OMC platforms. Product decisions must account for complex, multi-system dependencies. • Outdoor & low-connectivity environments • Unlike malls or stores, fuel stations face network variability, power fluctuations, and device constraints, making offline resilience and recovery flows critical. • Regulatory and ecosystem complexity • Petroleum payments involve PSU OMCs, private fuel chains, acquiring banks, NPCI, card networks, and regulators, all with stringent compliance and certification requirements. • Operational excellence over feature velocity • Success is measured less by feature count and more by success rates, uptime, MTTR, and on-ground stability. • Every second impacts revenue • Faster checkouts increase forecourt throughput, reduce queues, and improve dealer economics—making product decisions directly revenue-impacting. Things you should be comfortable with: • Working from office: 5 days a week ( Sector 62, Noida) • Pushing the boundaries: Have a big idea? See something that you feel we should do but haven’t done? We will hustle hard to make it happen. We encourage out of the box thinking, and if you bring that with you, we will make sure you get a bag that fits all the energy you bring along. What we Value in Our people • You take the shot: You Decide Fast and You Deliver Right • You are the CEO of what you do: you show ownership and make things happen • You own tomorrow: by building solutions for the merchants and doing the right thing • You sign your work like an artist: You seek to learn and take pride in the work you do

Qualifications

  • 6–10 years of product management experience
  • Strong specialization in offline / instore payments
  • Deep expertise in Cards payments and/or UPI
