The Self Service Platforms organization is hiring a Senior Product Owner/Product Manager with solid software development experience. This role focuses on developing managing the product portfolio fo OS Engineering, Cloud Infrastructure, and related services worldwide. The Senior Product Owner serves as the primary customer representative, liaising with Engineering teams or those responsible for highly complex requirements. This individual is accountable for maximizing product value resulting from engineering efforts, demonstrated through comprehensive ownership of the Backlog—both in terms of scope and prioritization—as well as stewardship of all aspects of the product, including features, non-functional behavior, quality, and technical debt. Success in this role requires a keen ability to understand and manage dependencies and trade-offs among competing requirements and stakeholders within a landscape of intricate interrelations. Summary of Key Responsibilities • Drive Product Mindset and Catalog Development: Champion the adoption of a product-centric approach within the Self-Service Platforms organization. Lead efforts to define, develop, and continuously enhance the product catalog, ensuring offerings are clear, relevant, and aligned with organizational goals. • Advance Agile and Product Maturity: Foster the evolution of agile practices and product management maturity across engineering teams. Actively promote best practices, provide guidance, and advocate for iterative, data-driven workflows to improve delivery and performance. • Requirement Gathering and Analysis: Ensure the creation of precise, high-quality, and actionable functional and nonfunctional requirements for product changes. Collaborate with stakeholders to collect feedback, define acceptance criteria, and confirm solutions meet business and end-user needs. • Prioritization and Planning: Set priorities in partnership with key stakeholders, balancing objectives, dependencies, and constraints. Maintain the product vision, track progress, and coordinate development and defect resolution across teams and locations. • Backlog Management: Establish and manage a transparent, agile backlog, ensuring timely progression of items and accurate status tracking. Regularly present updates, risks, and issues to stakeholders. • Working Practices and Relationships: Engage with engineering teams and stakeholders as part of an agile team, ensuring shared understanding of requirements and acceptance criteria. Collaborate to address design and technical gaps, and support strategic planning and early scope definition. • Continuous Improvement and Knowledge Sharing: Actively contribute to the Product Owner community, improving processes and setting standards. Mentor peers, provide cross-training, and promote a culture of openness, collaboration, and learning. • Hands-On Product Expertise: Maintain deep, hands-on knowledge of products to ensure effective requirement definition, solution delivery, and alignment with organizational goals. • Global Collaboration: Partner with international teams to design, evolve, and scale self-service platforms, emphasizing automation, security, and efficient infrastructure delivery.
