About the Role Cumulativ Consulting is looking for a Senior Ruby on Rails Developer to join us on a long-term contract basis for US based client . You’ll be working on production-grade applications used by real customers, collaborating with a lean, senior team that values clean architecture, scalability, and ownership. What You’ll Be Doing • Design, build, and maintain scalable Ruby on Rails applications • Own features end-to-end : design → development → deployment → optimization • Work with PostgreSQL and relational data modeling • Deploy and manage applications on Heroku • Build and consume RESTful APIs • Write clean, testable, and well-documented code • Collaborate with product, frontend, and architecture teams • Debug production issues and improve performance & reliability • Participate in technical decision-making and architecture discussions Required Skills & Experience • 6+ years of professional Ruby on Rails experience • Strong understanding of Rails internals, MVC, ActiveRecord, background jobs • Hands-on experience with Heroku (deployments, dynos, add-ons, logs, pipelines) • Solid experience with PostgreSQL • Experience building and maintaining REST APIs • Strong Git workflow experience • Ability to work independently in a remote, contract environment • Excellent communication and ownership mindset Nice to Have • Experience with Redis • Experience with RSpec / testing frameworks • Exposure to AWS services • Frontend familiarity (React / Hotwire / Stimulus) • Experience working in consulting or product-led environments Why Work With Cumulativ? • Long-term contract stability • Work on meaningful, real-world systems (not throwaway projects) • Senior-level ownership and autonomy • Clean engineering culture — quality over chaos • Fully remote, async-friendly team • Opportunity to extend contract and grow with us
