About the job

We are seeking a detail-oriented and methodical Statistical Analyst to join our analytics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting quantitative data to support strategic decision-making. This role involves developing statistical models, running simulations, and producing reports and visualizations to uncover insights and guide organizational priorities. Key Responsibilities: 1. Develop and calibrate logistic regression, Bayesian hierarchical, and machine-learning (randomforest, XGBoost, ensemble) models. 2. Conduct hypothesis testing by developing best practices, defining objectives and summarizing outputs in a layman friendly manner. 3. Generate forecast error maps using Inference and C.I estimations, and design metrics for continuous model improvement. 4. Collaborate with data engineering and data intelligence teams to ensure model reproducibility and scalability. 5. Document model logic, assumptions, and performance for internal governance. 6. Conduct weighting, post-stratification, and bias-correction for survey data. Required / Minimum Qualifications: 1. Master’s degree in Economics (Econometrics), Statistics, Mathematics or a related quantitative field. 2. 2-3 years of relevant professional working experience with a strong focus on model building, model testing and forecasting; Alternatively, advanced degree holders with sufficient research experience may also apply. 3. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word as well as G-Suites. 4. Strong proficiency in any statistical software such as R / STATA / Eviews. 5. Solid understanding of statistical concepts, statistical modelling, including bayesian frameworks and logistic regressions. 6. Experience working with large datasets and relational databases. 7. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. 8. Strong communication skills, especially in interpreting data for non-technical audiences. Preferred Qualifications: 1. Must have demonstrated ability to manage large data-sets simultaneously with a purpose of building hypotheses and inference testing. 2. Proven academic excellence / research experience in quantitative fields such as Econometrics, Financial Mathematics and Bayesian Statistics etc. 3. Model building experience in Python, R will be an advantage. 4. Experience with query writing and data automation related tasks (SQL, VBA etc) is a plus. 5. Ability to independently work on multiple projects and / or manage key requirements of internal stakeholders. 6. Prior experience / Postgraduate experience in publishing academic research is a plus.
