About Senior Underwriter Position Summary: The primary objective of this role is to evaluate mortgage loan applications, determine eligibility, acceptability, and compliance with applicable state and federal guidelines. This involves performing thorough credit analysis on conventional and government loan files. Conduct detailed reviews of submitted documents and generate initial credit decisions in accordance with investor guidelines as well as internal overlays. Evaluate complex tax returns accurately calculate income to ensure borrowers meet the required criteria for approval or denial.
