Software Engineer

As a Software Engineer in this role, you will be responsible for designing, prototyping, and demonstrating new features and components for both front-end and back-end systems. Your key responsibilities will include: - Assisting in the design, implementation, and optimization of approaches, tools, and workflows. - Collaborating with technical teams, business teams, and product managers to ensure that the code aligns with their vision. - Designing solutions that meet both functional and technical requirements. - Ensuring alignment with Security/Compliance frameworks and controls requirements. - Taking ownership of the quality posture by writing automated tests before writing code. - Writing high-quality code following best practices. - Developing delivery pipelines and automated deployment scripts. - Configuring services such as databases and monitoring systems. - Implementing Service Reliability Engineering practices. - Fixing issues from development through production phases, including providing on-call support. - Working in distributed agile teams using Scrum, SAFe, XP, or similar frameworks. - Designing, developing, and deploying RESTful microservices. - Applying DevOps principles, practices, and tools in an enterprise environment. - Engineering software within AWS, GCP, or Azure cloud infrastructure, including services like S3, DynamoDB/DocumentDB, EC2, and API Gateway. - Experience with RedHat OpenShift on cloud platforms is an added advantage. - Working with JMS, Kafka, or other messaging systems. - Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and practicing Test Driven Development (TDD). - Applying application security principles and secure coding practices. - Working with source control tools like Git/GitHub/Bitbucket and build tools. - Utilizing code scanning and quality tools such as SonarQube, Veracode, or BlackDuck. - Demonstrating strong knowledge of relational databases, SQL, JDBC, and NoSQL databases like MongoDB or Cassandra. - Implementing Infrastructure as Code using AWS CDK, CloudFormation Templates, Ansible, and YAML. - Adapting to and incorporating emerging technologies while ensuring safety and security standards.
