Role Summary Responsible for end‑to‑end procurement of raw materials, chemicals, packaging, engineering spares, and capital items for a Pulp & Paper manufacturing unit. The role includes vendor management, sourcing strategy, SAP‑MM operations, negotiation, cost optimization, and ensuring uninterrupted material supply. Qualifications & Experience • Education: B.Tech/B.E./Diploma (Mechanical/Chemical/Pulp & Paper or MBA in Supply Chain/Materials Management. • Experience: 5–10 years in purchase (paper & pulp/chemical industry preferred) Key Responsibilities 1. Strategic Sourcing & Procurement • Develop and implement sourcing strategies for pulp, wastepaper, chemicals, dyes, fillers, and consumables • Conduct market analysis and identify cost‑effective suppliers • Align procurement with production plans and budgets 2. Vendor Management • Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers • Maintain long‑term vendor relationships and review performance • Resolve vendor issues and ensure compliance with company standards 3. SAP-MM Operations • Manage PRs, POs, material master, GR, and invoice verification • Monitor procurement using SAP dashboards and ensure workflow compliance 4. Cost Optimization & Negotiation • Lead negotiations for pricing and contract terms • Drive cost savings through alternative sourcing and inventory optimization • Maintain benchmarking and market intelligence 5. Inventory & Supply Planning • Coordinate with Production, Stores, and Planning to maintain optimal stock • Monitor inventory levels, avoid stock-outs, and support JIT practices 6. Compliance & Documentation • Ensure adherence to procurement policies, statutory norms, and audits • Maintain complete documentation for contracts, POs, and technical data 7. Cross-functional Coordination • Work closely with Quality, Finance, Production & Logistics • Support CAPEX procurement and digital procurement initiatives Skills & Competencies • Technical: SAP-MM expertise, strong negotiation, analytical ability, supply‑chain understanding • Soft Skills: Leadership, communication, vendor relationship management • Core Competencies: Strategic sourcing, cost control, vendor development, market intelligence, risk management, contract management
