We’re looking for a dynamic and detail-driven Sr. Manager Planning and Procurement who will report to Head of Operations. This role will lead the integrated business planning and sourcing function at Wholsum Foods, driving demand-supply alignment, cost optimization, and vendor performance. This role ensures robust forecasting, material availability, and efficient procurement to achieve high customer service levels (COF > 95%), optimal inventory (DOH targets), and cost savings across raw materials, packaging, and finished goods. Key Responsibilities 1. Demand & Supply Planning • Lead the monthly S&OP cycle, collaborating with Sales, Operations, and Finance to ensure accurate forecasts and feasible supply plans. • Review forecast accuracy and bias by channel, SKU, and category, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. • Translate demand into production and material requirements, ensuring zero stockouts and balanced inventory. • Develop and track KPIs such as Forecast Accuracy, DOH, COF, and Ageing >70% Shelf Life. 2. Procurement & Cost Optimization • Oversee procurement of raw and packaging materials across all categories and co-manufacturers. • Develop category sourcing strategies, ensuring cost competitiveness, quality compliance, and reliable supply. • Drive annual procurement cost savings through negotiations, vendor development, and long-term rate contracts. • Monitor vendor performance via metrics on OTIF supply, quality rejections, and adherence to credit/payment terms. • Work with Finance for timely GRNs, vendor reconciliations, and working capital optimization. 3. Cross-functional Collaboration • Partner with NPD and Quality teams for timely BOM finalization, new SKU onboarding, and spec alignments. • Coordinate with Operations and Warehousing to manage inbound logistics, safety stocks, and supplier service levels. • Liaise with external stakeholders such as co-manufacturers and 3PLs to ensure timely material dispatches. 4. Process Excellence & Governance • Build and institutionalize Planning & Procurement SOPs, approval matrices, and review cadences. • Implement systems for demand sensing, purchase automation, and supplier dashboards. • Lead RCA and CAPA for planning or procurement deviations (e.g., OOS, MOQ issues, or cost overruns). • Ensure alignment with the company’s Cost Governance and CM1 Improvement agenda. 5. People Leadership • Manage and develop the Demand Planner and Procurement Manager, fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration. • Build planning and negotiation capability within the team through training, mentorship, and structured goal setting. • Lead cross-functional reviews, ensuring transparency, discipline, and data-driven decisions. What You’ll Bring • 10-12 years of experience in planning, procurement, or supply chain leadership roles (preferably in FMCG, Food Manufacturing, or D2C). • Strong understanding of S&OP, demand forecasting, and material planning across multi-category portfolios. • Proven track record in strategic sourcing, vendor development, and driving procurement cost savings. • Advanced proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets, ERP systems (SAP/Zoho/Tally), and data-driven decision making. • Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills across Sales, Finance, NPD, and Manufacturing. • High ownership mindset with the ability to manage ambiguity and deliver outcomes in fast-paced growth environments. • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills with a focus on long-term value creation. Nice to Have • Prior experience implementing or optimizing ERP or Planning Systems (SAP, NetSuite, Dynamics). • Exposure to co-manufacturing operations and multi-plant supply networks. • Understanding of CM1 margin drivers, BOM cost structures, and cost governance frameworks. • Experience working closely with founders or CXOs to align procurement and planning with strategic business goals. • Knowledge of export supply chains and packaging procurement for international markets. • Certification in Lean Six Sigma, APICS, or Supply Chain Analytics.
