Staff Accountant – Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting

Job Description As a Staff Accountant in Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting at NIQ, you will play a critical role in supporting the company’s external financial reporting and technical accounting functions. You will be instrumental in assisting with the preparation of consolidated financial statements and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filings in accordance with U.S. GAAP and consolidated statutory financial statements in accordance with IFRS, assisting with maintaining compliance with SOX internal controls and supporting complex accounting areas. Responsibilities –Reporting: • Assist in the preparation of draft SEC filings including Form’s 10-Q, 10-K and 8-K reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements • Assist in the preparation of supporting documentation for disclosures included in external reporting documents • Support the tie-out validation procedures and maintain supporting documentation on other externally released financial information including, but not limited to, annual proxy, investor presentations, earnings releases, etc • Support ongoing collaboration cross-functionally with Investor Relations, Treasury, International subsidiaries and internal/external auditors to gather and validate financial data • Assist in the preparation of legal entity financial statements, including IFRS statutory reporting • Assist in the preparation of monthly stock compensation expense calculations • Support the preparation of schedules and other documentation in accordance with the Company's internal controls, quarterly financial close process, disclosure checklist and the quarterly and annual SEC reporting calendar • Support account analysis, footnote tie-outs, and supporting schedules • Assist in the external audit process by providing timely and accurate supporting documentation • Support ongoing SOX compliance by executing and documenting internal controls over financial reporting • Participate in key reporting initiatives and cross-functional projects as an accounting resource including implementation of new or modified financial reporting requirements or other accounting implementations • Assist in the collection, analysis, preparation and submission of governmental survey information on an ad hoc basis • Provide assistance/support to other areas within the accounting/finance group and other ad hoc project work, as requested Technical Accounting: • Provide assistance in technical accounting processes in complex areas including: • Adoption of new accounting standards • Acquisition and disposal transactions • Debt transactions • Support technical accountants and contribute to ad hoc projects as needed A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOU (Role) A successful Staff Accountant will achieve a balanced coordination of priorities and seamless execution of meeting targeted deadlines particularly in peak financial reporting periods. Intellectually curious and exhibits excellent analytical aptitude. Qualifications • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field • Certified Accountant designation (CA / CPA / ACCA) or actively pursuing professional licensure • Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience in public accounting (Big 4 preferred) or within a medium to large international organization • Strong interpersonal skills with excellent verbal and written communication skills; capable of engaging professionally across all levels • Detail oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving and analytical thinking • Familiarity with statutory reporting, technical accounting and applicable standards such as US GAAP and IFRS is advantageous • Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP and OneStream • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with intermediate to advanced Excel capabilities Additional Information NIQ may utilize artificial intelligence (AI) tools at various stages of the recruitment process, including résumé screening, candidate assessments, interview scheduling, job matching, communication support, and certain administrative tasks that help streamline workflows.
