Preferred qualifications: • 10 years of experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, coding (e.g., Python, R, SQL), querying databases or statistical analysis, or 8 years of experience with a PhD degree. • 3 years of experience as a people manager within a technical leadership role. • Strong business intuition and ability to synthesize multiple data points, points of view and analyses into actionable and meaningful insights. • Excellent problem-solving skills, impeccable business judgment and practical analysis mindset, comfortable with both statistically driven analysis and approaches based on the need of problem. Quantitative Analysts work all across the organization to help shape Google's business and technical strategies by processing, analyzing and interpreting huge data sets. Using analytical excellence and statistical methods, you mine through data to identify opportunities for Google and our clients to operate more efficiently, from enhancing advertising efficacy to network infrastructure optimization to studying user behavior. As an analyst, you do more than just crunch the numbers. You work with Engineers, Product Managers, Sales Associates and Marketing teams to adjust Google's practices according to your findings. Identifying the problem is only half the job; you also figure out the solution. As a Staff Data Scientist, You will directly oversee the contributions of others and develop colleagues capabilities in the area of specialization. You will lead your team through selecting the best answer to problems with multiple potential solutions. You will oversee the integration of cross-functional and cross-organizational project/process timelines and help define operational goals and objectives. You will deliver solutions to problems that may be ambiguous and lacking clear precedent. You will develop project roadmaps, establish project goals, coordinate resources, and provide technical leadership in line with long-term objectives. Responsibilities: • Manage Bengaluru Center of Excellence for Cloud Supply Chain and Operations, Data Science and AI Modeling team. • Lead a portfolio of programs in developing ML/Statistical models, conducting diagnostic analytics research, crafting prescriptive insights. • Guide problem framing, metrics development, data extraction and manipulation, visualization, and story telling for the team. • Provide problem-solving thought leadership through proactive and strategic contributions (e.g., suggests new models, analyses, infrastructure or experiments to drive improvements in the business). • Oversee the integration of cross-functional and cross-organizational project/process timelines, develop process improvements and recommendations, and define operational goals and objectives.
