Staff-Technical Program Management Responsibilities, authorities and accountabilities Work independently, at the same time collaborating with all other roles within an agile product development life cycle to ensure product releases that meet organizational standards and customer needs. In this role, you will: • Own medium sized feature or feature set requests • Interact with customers and product managers to understand customer needs and timelines • Apply Agile principles to translate unstructured or ambiguous work requests into actionable user stories and work units through problem decomposition and planning • Demonstrate practical experience in Agile Methodology to run scrums and stand-ups to collaborate with engineering teams and support them with scope considerations, product requirements • Demonstrate increasing understanding of product and project management • Demonstrate superior knowledge of software development life cycles to collaborate with Quality Engineering and Build and Release teams • Ensure that intermediate and major features releases meet quality standards and functional requirements • Work with fellow team members and provide subject matter expertise to diagnose bugs and formulate solutions during User Acceptance Testing as well as after the product is deployed in Production • Show increasing understanding of the technology stack and its impact on the final product • Demonstrate awareness of Industrial trends and domain expertise • Demonstrate ability to influence customers and product managers through persuasion and influencing Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). A minimum of 8 years of professional experience. Desired Characteristics • Collaborate with business and functional partners and technology leadership in defining features backlog and specifying requirements • Drive technology discussion and strategy in line with business needs and company reference architecture • Define execution plan and approach based on project scope, expected timeline and available budget/resources • Facilitate convergence of functional and technical knowledge and build project teams • Work with a globally located technical team often comprising members of separate organizations to coordinate day-to-day execution as per outlined plan • Cooperate with and manage external vendors as required. Manage procurement and onboarding process • Ensure pre-defined project management processes and practices are followed. Drive simplification and improvement as necessary • Support execution team with resolution of roadblocks and interdependencies. Partner with technical and functional teams external to the project to ensure their tasks are completed as required • Manage project risks, scope changes and other non-standard events throughout the life of the project • Manage stakeholder communication and progress reporting • Ensure quality of deliverables is verified and matches stakeholder expectations • Track project outcomes realization and customer satisfaction levels through established metrics against service level. Ensure lessons learned are collected Technical Expertise: • Experience in using the Jira or Rally tool to manage requirements processes • Have a solid understanding of the underlying infrastructure needed to run a large, distributed web application • Evangelizes how our technology solves customer problems from a technology and business perspective • Experience in customer engagement to facilitate requirements • Has the ability to break down problems and estimate time for development tasks • Has the ability to make basic technology choices based on experience • Demonstrated initiative to stay abreast of technology advancements Business Acumen: • Demonstrates the initiative to explore alternate technology and approaches to solving problems • Skilled in breaking down problems, documenting problem statements and estimating efforts • Has the ability to analyze impact of technology choices Leadership: • Influences through others; builds direct and "behind the scenes" support for ideas • Proactively identifies and removes project obstacles or barriers on behalf of the team • Shares knowledge, power, and credit, establishing trust, credibility, and goodwill • Able to work under minimal supervision • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interface with senior leadership with confidence and clarity • Able to work well with global teams, including time-zone flexibility • Ability takes ownership of small and medium sized tasks and deliver while mentoring and helping team members • Ensures understanding of issues and presents clear rationale. Able to speak to mutual needs and win-win solutions. Uses two-way communication to influence outcomes and ongoing results • Identifies misalignments with goals, objectives, and work direction against the organizational strategy. Makes suggestions to course correct • Continuously measure deliverables of self and team against scheduled commitments.
