Web Backend Software Engineer

Role Overview: You are being sought after to join as a Web Backend Software Engineer in a growing company that requires your expertise in developing Web Applications enabled using REST APIs. Your role will involve creating efficient and high-performing REST APIs to drive the User Interface, along with optimising queries for faster execution and introducing necessary database changes. Furthermore, you will be working with a complex technology stack including Spring, Hibernate, HornetQ, Quartz, and more, requiring extensive understanding of transaction management and data handling across different application layers. In addition, you will play a crucial part in detailing requirements for requested functionalities and providing technical insight into their implementation. Key Responsibilities: - Develop, test, implement, and maintain application software. - Participate in software and architectural development activities. - Transform requirements into implementation details. - Debug application issues and assist support in responding to client queries. - Participate in application development meetings. - Provide accurate estimates, communicate task status, and identify risks. - Perform performance tuning of application code at different service levels. - Interact with customers of the application, address reported issues, and collect requirements. - Incorporate design changes to enhance application performance. Qualifications Required: - Minimum Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent. - Minimum 1+ years experience with Java, J2EE/Java EE, Spring MVC, Spring Security, and Hibernate. - Strong understanding of relational databases, SQL concepts, and writing optimized queries. - Strong understanding of Java concurrency, concurrency patterns, and experience in building thread-safe code. - Experience in building RESTful web services and using web application servers like JBoss. - Strong written and verbal communication skills. - Strong interpersonal skills, time management skills, problem-solving, and analytical skills. - Experience with task tracking systems (e.g., Jira) and distributed version control systems (e.g., Git).
